Prof. Brett King - Board Member - VP International

Brett King is a VP of AAFM International Training FZ, founding chairman of the AAFM Middle East GCC and the founder of the Asian operations. He almost 20 years of experience in Technology , Executive Training and Graduate Education, and IT related work within the Financial Services sector. Brett is a board-level advisor to multiple Asian businesses. Brett has primary offices in Dubai and Hong Kong.

Prof. King's corporate and banking consulting spans internationally along with consulting for Fortune 100 companies. King’s career includes the creation and successful expansion of his own software company throughout Asia over a period of 7 years, including representative offices and dealers in Singapore, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Dubai, the United States and Australia. Brett also designed the infrastructure for a national Internet Service Provider (ISP) based in Australia and went on to own and operate a division of this business based in Melbourne for two years.

His work has included assisting a number of major names in Asia on e-Business strategies, architectures, technologies and solution deployment and currently leads consulting and creative assignments for clients such as HSBC, Prudential, CitiBank, Manulife Financial, AIA, GE Capital, ANZ, National Australia Bank, etc.

Prof King is the author or co-author of over 20 books, treatises, traing manuals and journal articles. Prof. King holds faculty and Executive Training Appointments in Hong Kong, Beijing, India, Kuwait, Dubai, Singapore and more. His academic and industry research has focused on financial industry , e-business, banking, brokerage, wealth management and many other areas. He is the President of the Board of Standards for the Institute of Certified E-Commerce Consultants (ICECC) chapter in Asia. Brett is also a Certified Developer of Enterprise and a national finalist in the Achaeus Institute entrepreneurship program. Brett is also a Lecturer for AGSM’s MBA Program based here in Hong Kong, where he teaches on e-Commerce, CRM Strategy and Interactive Marketing. Prof. King also serves on the board of the International Project Management Commission.

Brett retains a qualification as a Class IV Instrument rated private pilot (GA PPL, NVFR) and holds an advanced Scuba diving license (Advanced Open Water). King regularly speaks at Industry forums and events such as the American Chamber of Commerce, Sun e-Banking summit, The Economist CFO Forum, etc and has been published in numerous business and industry publications (Wall Street Journal, South China Morning Post, FEER, AsiaWeek, BusinessOnline, Media Magazine, etc).

Prof. King had the honor of holding the title of Chairperson for the Asian Internet Awards judging panel (sponsored by VISA) and speaks regularly at events such as the DTT Fast 500 Asia launch. Brett currently resides in Hong Kong with his wife and daughter.
